Chef Susie Ieronemo
Born in River Forest, Ill., Susie Ieronomo came to Charleston in 2002 to study baking and pastry at Johnson & Wales University and graduated in 2003.
After graduation, she moved to Portland, Oregon, where she worked at Papa Haydn’s Dessert Bar and Restaurant for an incredible wedding cake maker. Ieronomo took her first Pastry Chef position in 2004 at the Carlyle Restaurant. She didn’t know any serious techniques at the time, but luckily was the only person applying for the position, so she got it!
It didn't take her long to realize that she missed the Lowcountry. She moved back in August 2005 and started making wedding cakes at Seabrook Island Club. In 2006 she took a position with Cordavi restaurant and was able to explore more creative and complicated techniques, honing her skills. She has been the pastry chef for Patrick Properties since November 2008.
